When you think of using cheese in a dish, what comes to mind first? For many Americans – it’s pizza. Whether deep-dish or New York’s thin crust, most people have a favorite – and would love to tell you about it – but the one thing they can all agree on is pizza must have CHEESE! In fact, according to the U.S. Dairy Export Council “Pizza purveyors make up the largest restaurant industry segment, with more than 70,000 locations in the United States alone (PMQ, 2014). Pizza is already the single biggest use of cheese in food service, and growth is expected to continue.”
Our September Chapter Meeting, sponsored by Dairy Council of Nevada, is dedicated to showcasing the qualities and depth of cheese. The educational portion will feature an interactive, and delicious, wine & cheese tasting where you can sip, savor, and sample a variety of cheeses expertly paired with wines. Afterwards, we will break for a fun mixer featuring raffle prizes and more cheesy goodness to enjoy with complemen-dairy pizzas from Cabrisse Kitchen, and a cash bar.
Cabrisse Kitchen is a casual artisan pizzeria and bar located inside The Venue at The Orleans Hotel & Casino. It shares a space with the hit off-strip dinner show Marriage Can Be Murder, where you can indulge in a fun night of who-dun-it while enjoying delectable eats, and conversations among fellow guests. Food is Eric Post’s passion. He is a Le Cordon Bleu trained chef, and owns both Cabrisse Kitchen and Marriage Can be Murder, where he acts in the latter. Tickets to the show will be included in the raffle.
